hello! it is 11 minutes till 10 Feb, which means a month is almost passed since i last posted. ohwell, i figure the reason i don't post is cos i'm real used to posting long posts and since i'm lazy to post long posts i won't post at all.
then i realise there are people with like, one paragraph as a post. so what the heck, i'll post! it'll
probably end up long anyway. -rolls eyes-

It's Chinese New Year again. Lovely.
I guess my family has sort of a tradition. And still I never find myself getting used to it. teehee. On CNY eve, we have our reunion dinner. It's pretty tiny usually, my mom's siblings and their families. We have steamboat and I don't eat much. That's usually the case. Whenever there's food that I have to take myself I'm just way too lazy and it's not like I have much of an appetite anyway. And after dinner, my family and I just bum around the house until the adults come out and give out ang paos to the kids. i LOVE that bit. call me superficial/materialistic/whatever but find me one kid who does not look forward AT ALL to money. hehe. i don't use the money of course. IN THE BANK IT GOES! but it makes me feel rich. -shrugs- and then my family and I bum around a bit again and then we talk and watch tv.
but this year my uncle's wife and their daughter came over from Thailand! She's 8, really tiny and super cute. She can't speak english yet though ):
so cute. she's really mischievious too! we call her Mai. My uncle insists it's spelt as "mine" but that's just weird. so I roll my eyes and insist it's Mai. HEHE. we all call her that anyway. and mai's mummy is a cool lady who added strands of shiny string thingies to my hair. so now i have glitzy hair. teehee. and she did my nails too! using some stamp thing. but she's really good at it! :D:D:D
and after a few hours my mommy took out this box of glitter tattoo thing since the stone age and started doing glitter tattoos for all of us! i put one of a butterfly on my lower-right-abdomen. so pretty. scratched it off already though.
FIRST DAY OF CNY!
We dress up real pretty and and head for the old folk's home where my great grandma is staying. she's 90 this year! haha, all our relatives meet up over there and the adults to a lot of catching up while kids collect ang paos and answer the aunties and uncles questions. usually they just go "WHOA YOU'VE GROWN SO MUCH!" or something like that.
and then my mommy brings out this whole bunch of ang paos which we kids give out to the old folks at the home. :) it's quite meaningful.
SECOND DAY OF CNY!
Lion Dance.
I personally don't see the whole point, but my mom's a bit of a superstitious/traditional human. Or maybe she just thinks it's fun. But I don't really enjoy waking up early (10am? if i get the chance i usually sleep in till 12pm) to watch the performance. I suppose it's quite cool. Until you see it every year. Okay fine, the lions aren't really annoying, it's just that the drums and the cymbals create quite a racket. haha.
the lion dance troop always leaves 4digits in some formation made by oranges and then they leave. and my grandpa and mom usually examines the numbers then proceeds to by 4d/toto whatnot. hahaha.
and after awhile we watch our neighbour's lion dances. those are cooler than ours cos they get the real pro people to do the lion dance. with like dragon whatevers too. haha. i don't really know what it's called. however, i do prefer the lion dance that came to my house because it ends faster, thus requiring less of my attention and hurting my ears less. once again: i do not hate lion dances, i just think that it's rather noisy.
DAY THREE OF CNY!
this time we really dress up pretty cos we're visiting my mom's friends! those people actually LOOK at what you wear. kind of. whatever. hehe. this year i wore a pretty blue dress from m)phosis. i love it so much! and my hair was being absolutely lovely. it was so straight! now.. if only it'd do that on normal school days. ): i always get such horrible hair because i fall asleep with wet hair. it's all poofy and fluffy and ugly.
ANYWAY. i'm quite happy because the adults chit chat and leave the kids alone, except to give us angpaos and the usual round of questions. then the children talk amongst themselves and play their games and read their books, basically doing their own things.
(this is such a long and boring post because i'm rambling on about basically nothing important!)
then we go home.
DAY FOUR: today!
I don't usually have anything planned on day four onwards. but today i went to my mom's friend auntie yukee's house for a buffet dinner. her home is HUGE. a 7000 square feet penthouse bigger than my terrace house. and she keeps two dogs. ONE OF WHICH IS A HUGE POLICE DOG. DAMN SCARY. hahaha, but she insists he's nice. -.-" a bit hard to swallow, that bit. but otherwise it was rather boring. thank goodness there was an internet connection there. haha. i would die otherwise.
earlier on today i went with shanxi jen to get her ipod checked out. she was secretly hoping there was some major issue with her ipod so that she could get a new free one. hers is so scratched! haha. on two previous ocassions i got a new ipod from apple because my ipod was corrupt or something. i was positively overjoyed because my ipod was scratched too! and so ugly.
so anyway shanxi couldn't get a new ipod. (chorus of 'awwwwwww's). we had a lovely chat at coffeebean, and ate octopus balls at takashimaya.

my blog is SO FRICKIN BORING! i'm basically typing all that's happened. even I don't like reading these kindsa things. i like writing about something more fun. more fun fun fun. hmm, nothing much really. i'm such a boring soul. KILL ME!
okay how about philosophy. i think the teacher is real sucky compared to mr johannis last year cos we spend half our lessons watching her write on the whiteboard. >:( and she always stops us from firing our arguments across the classroom. that totally spoils the momentum and we end up forgetting what we want to say! unhappiness pursues. lol. WHEN DID I BECOME SO BORING. ah. WHATEVER.
